Brothers and Sisters,
I wanted you to know that after much consideration, conversation, and prayer, I have decided to cancel our services on Sunday March 15 and Sunday March 22 because of concerns related to the coronavirus/COVID-19.
I do this out of an abundance of caution for our members and others who come through our doors.
During this period of time, we will not have classes, book groups, choir practice or any other church-related activity.
In the interim, I invite you to watch the live streaming services from the National Cathedral on Sunday, at 11:15 a.m. or from The Cathedral of St. Philip at 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Clergy will be present in both Cathedrals but congregants will attend by live streaming. If technology is not for you, pick up your BCP and say Morning Prayer with your family.
I encourage you to check in by telephone with each other during the week. I will also be making calls. If you need me, you have my cell number from the back of Sunday bulletins.
We often speak of Lent as our wilderness season. Let us handle this wilderness before us as faithfully as we know how. Let us pray for those affected by this virus and for those who care for them, for the healthcare providers and researchers, and for our leaders. Goodness, we all need prayers at this time. I will pray for you; pray for me and for us all as we navigate this challenging time.
